Gulfstar 44 - great bluewater sailing boat
Description
One of the best ocean sailing boats ever made. https://www.jordanyachts.com/1805#:~:text=What%20gives%20the%20Gulfstar%2044,find%20on%20sensible%20production%20yachts.
I bought this boat in Toronto, Canada, seven years ago. I sailed her back to New Zealand over 18-months (yep, the timing wasn't great). Regardless, I sailed solo across the pacific and had a lifechanging, wonderful adventure.
The worse the weather gets the more this boat likes it and really comes alive. She is a dream to sail short-handed.
Designed for a couple with a big aft cabin.
She is a go anywhere boat. Also, a very nice liveaboard boat with a classic beauty.
Needs a major overhaul - priced accordingly as you will likely spend 20-40k - and is a project boat. I haven't the time or the willingness to do all the work needed, so it's time for another adventurer to own her and make their own way. You won't see many of these boats in this condition in the South Seas and this really is a bargain price if you have some handy skills.
I will try and list some of the things that need doing soon.
