Farr 7.5 High Flyer III

High Flyer III needs a new family to take her on more adventures. Flyer sleeps 6 people in 2 double berths (can fit 3 children in the forward berth) and 2 single berths. Our family of 5 have been on many multiday trips on Lake Taupo ("home base"), trailed the boat to Auckland and sailed to Great Barrier Island and around the Hauraki Gulf, started in Russell and sailed around the Bay of Islands and started in Wellington to cross Cook Strait and sail in the Marlborough Sounds.
The Main Sail was replaced most recently (still have the old one) and the large Gib was new when we bought the boat in 2002. There are 2 other gib sails and a spinnaker, a gas cooker (with a grill). The swing keel/centreboard mechanics were replaced 4 years ago and the main and genoa halyards and lines replaced around the same time. The back stay has also been replaced. The 10yr old 15Hp Honda outboard motor has been serviced every year and well maintained. The squabs have just been reupholstered and have been used once on our last sail at Christmas time- so pleased with the way they look! Condition is good considering her age- some gel coat cracking. Boat has been covered by a tarpaulin to reduce UV damage. Good aluminium trailer with functioning electrics and brakes- is registered until February, 2026. Flyer is currently at Whakaipo Bay Storage and can be viewed by arrangement only as we no longer live locally- happy to answer as many questions as you wish if you are serious about buying Flyer. Time has passed and our children have grown up and are not in a position to take on this boat and we are getting towards being too old to continue sailing her with just the 2 of us. It is time for another Family to have the opportunity to have as much fun as we have. The Farr 7.5 is also a good racing boat although we have only used her as an "expedition boat".
