1985 Alan Wright Pacer 7.3 Trailer Yacht
Description
Alan Wright Pacer 7.3 – The Ultimate DIY Project
Backyard Sleepout, Tiny Home or Weekend Sailor...you choose.
This was my retirement project, and I have already tackled the "heavy lifting" and the hull has been fully restored and professionally repainted at Norsand in Whangarei, and the keel has been dropped and fully serviced/repaired (cost $4k). Unfortunately, due to a medical condition, I can no longer complete the interior hence the sale.
Unlike fixed-keel boats, this Pacer features a retractable/swing keel so it sits lower and more stable on the trailer, making it much easier to tow and easy to access as a sleepout while not on the water. While afloat it allows you to sail into shallow bays, get right up close to the beach, and makes launching/retrieving at the boat ramp a breeze.
Space to sleep 2 comfortably (with potential for more) and includes a kitchenette/cooker and a private toilet area.
The cabin roof lifts, providing full standing headroom and a bright, airy feel that’s rare in a boat of this size.
The boat comes with the mast, rigging, and a full set of sails and the custom dual-axle galvanized trailer. You just need to finish the interior and you have a cool easy to manage cruiser ready for the islands.
*Not-Included: Outboard Motor.
