1984 VOLVO B611 COACH BUS - One of a kind in NZ!
Description
Selling our much-loved 1984 Volvo B6 coach, bought 2 years ago from Alex at Travlon Coach Lines in Christchurch. He owned it for years and took exceptional care of it. It’s a genuine vintage coach with a ton of character, and you won't find another one like it in NZ.
We originally purchased it to convert into a high-end house bus, but life shifted and we’re now making an offer on a property, so it’s time to let this beauty go.
The bus is 11.5m long and still has all of its original seating (around 40–50 seats). It runs well, has great road presence, and always turns heads. The chassis is the classic Volvo B6 (also known as B610/B611). It was part of the Watsons Motors / Nelson Suburban / Pacific Tourways fleet before moving under Travlon Transport. It also has an ex–fire truck engine.
It is a 6 litre Volvo engine about 175 hp. Not sure of the kms as it's not the original engine, but it's an ex fire truck engine, so will have low kms likely.
COF: It’s not holding a current COF due to a small 1 inch crack in the chassis. This can be repaired easily — it’s currently at a metal fabricator’s workshop and we can organise the repair as part of the sale, it is not a big deal. Otherwise happy to discuss an as-is price.
Rego is currently on hold as it's been parked up at the workshop where we were going to convert it.
It would make an amazing base for:
House bus conversion Vintage tour or charter Mobile studio or creative build A collector who wants something unique
only 1 in NZ!
The exterior is full stainless skin, which is a big advantage for anyone wanting a solid, long-lasting build. No rust issues like you get with mild-steel buses — this one is built to last, and it’s one of the reasons these vintage Volvos are so well regarded.
Genuine reason for sale. Happy to answer questions or organise a viewing, just give me a ring 022 071 0946
One of the images provided here is our intended layout design for the bus.** just to give an idea of the space in there for a house bus.
