


1947 ROVER 16 HP ENGINE Fully Reconditioned
Description
Fully rebuilt regardless of cost some 20 to 25 years ago when parts and skilled services were still available, but no longer needed.
Rebored with UK-supplied +.030 pistons, crankshaft built up to standard size by submerged arc process (Ruscoe, Lower Hutt), fitted with new standard sized bearing shells and dynamically balanced. Camshaft and its bearings still to original specs; all other bearings and seals new, all accessories, fuel oil and water pumps fully rebuilt. New rocker shaft and bushes, new valves, springs, guides and exhaust valve seat inserts for unleaded fuel. All new core plugs including the three in head. New camshaft chain and crankshaft chainwheel (camshaft one still good). New Lodge spark plugs. New flywheel and its spigot bearing, relined clutch plate, conrods crack tested, new or near new. New modern crankshaft oil seals fitted, front and rear. All 5 original aluminium water jacket castings replaced by new bronze ones. Dynamo rebuilt by Lucas NZ, supplied with matching regulator unit. Water passages thoroughly cleaned out. The engine has been regularly turned over while being stored. Supplied with rebuilt carburettor.
The reserve price will be just a fraction of current reconditioning cost. And expertly done. Unused since reconditioning.
