Despite not being “ownership” in the strict sense, you can sell or transfer them, but there’s a required process. To transfer to another person: • Both parties complete a “Transfer of Entitlement” form • This is a legal document recognised by NZTA systems • Records are updated with the plate manufacturer/registry (LicenSys) quidam (69) • Thursday, 4 June 2026
