Questions & Answers

  • Absolute beauty mate! I have a c5 s6 sedan and its pretty quick. Can't imagine what sort of punch this thing pulls! All the best with the sale someone's going to get something very special ashandcait (91) • 9:43 pm, Sun, 26 Oct Thanks Ash, it’s a special car alright. It’s a lot of fun to drive. Don’t see many S6 C5’s around. Also getting pretty rare now. samclifford (2) • Sunday, 26 October 2025
  • What gearbox did u use man they shoulda made them manual for sure don't think they had a strong enough box to handle running the torque being 4WD I'm interested if the gearbox will handle the power craigclan (0) • 11:36 am, Sat, 1 Nov Hey, it’s a fully rebuilt and upgraded 01E from a 2001 S4. The internals have upgraded everything, shift collars, Synchros with the 6th gear from the A6 TDI for a taller more economical ratio. This is a well documented and time tested recipe for the Audi RS6 C5. samclifford (2) • Saturday, 1 November 2025
  • Is there any cold air from outside the car feeding the pod filters? Like ducting, aluminum separation and seals, water sprayer etc? I ask because they perform amazing with cold air intake. danbar2 (278) • 12:04 am, Mon, 3 Nov The cold air comes in through the front grills, particularly the upper front grill. The original factory airbox is restrictive when demanding more power. The surface area has been greatly increased and modified the airflow meter pipes to have less restriction by about 30% Even with warm air from the engine bay there is now a lot more airflow as proven by log data. Warm air is better than no air. The upgraded intercoolers which are almost twice the volume of the original help to combat this. samclifford (2) • Monday, 3 November 2025
  • Hi there Did you do the work on this? Out of interest, do you know what the performance figures would be from standard? I used to own a standard wagon before I left to go overseas, will be returning soon. Has it been reliable? Thanks Mike mike1m (0) • 2:55 am, Fri, 7 Nov Hi Mike, factory power figures are around 444bhp (331KW) approx. 560 NM Torque. It's a lot more than that now. Needs to be dyno'd estimate is around 590bhp currently. But still playing around with tunes. 80% of the work has been completed by myself over the years. Engine rebuild (2020) was done by Headmasters. Manual conversion was completed by myself and a good friend Don who i believe was the first to successfully complete a manual conversion here in NZ. samclifford (2) • Friday, 7 November 2025

  • Shit plate ohaupobuilt (12) • 8:08 pm, Tue, 23 Dec Can you articulate why you think it’s shit? I appreciate it’s not everyone’s ’cup of tea’. However, we are lucky enough to live in a country that allow us freedom of expression. My choice of plate is not meant to offend, rather suggest what the vehicle is…. It’s an RS6 & an absolute BEAST!!! 🤣 samclifford (2) • Tuesday, 23 December 2025
