2003 Audi S4
Background check
Description
Absolute stunner B6 S4
Audi S4 really nice clean condition. Looking for an Audi Sports car Enthusiast/collector.
Has been serviced at Archibalds pretty much all of its life here in Christchurch (see pictures). I have the full service history here. The chains and guides were done at Archibalds at a cost of around $16,000 to do. The REGO is on hold at the moment. The car has lived in Christchurch all its life. Original set of S4 18" Avus Alloy wheels with good tires. Hard to find unmolested original carall the service history, with as prices are starting to increase, a great car for the collector.
Has been diagnosed with a timing issue, as Ive had a Motor Technician out to diagnose the fault. Has a Cam adjuster bank2 fault. Car is priced very well for work needed. Im busy with another project so no time for this S4 at the moment.
Comes with the Audi leather wallet with all the service and owners books + 2 keys. Completely standard S4 vehicle and NZ NEW ! Interior is excellent condition, headlining is mint.
A GREAT SUMMER project for someone. This is a very reluctant sale, as prices going up for these collectors cars. I will not be re-listing this car, and it will go into storage.
Any questions please do ask.
Questions & Answers
How does it run currently? classic_cars (369 • 1:17 am, Sat, 8 Nov )Turns over and fires up for a short period, due to timing issue. There are no warning lights on the dash at all. para43 (419 • Saturday, 8 November 2025 )Hi there do you know what the fault code was when diagnosed please. murphy112 (142 • 2:27 pm, Sun, 16 Nov )Yes, I have posted a picture of the fault code on the scanner. para43 (419 • Sunday, 16 November 2025 )Hi there, when were the guides & chains replaced at Archibalds & when did the cam sensor fault start to occur? dan_envee (240 • 10:20 pm, Tue, 25 Nov )Looking at the pictures, you will see the chains and guides were done in 2011 by Archibalds, the fault has occurred this year. para43 (419 • Tuesday, 25 November 2025 )Is there a copy of the invoice available please? A tick in the book doesn’t really cut it with how much of a major job it is dan_envee (240 • 10:31 pm, Tue, 25 Nov )Ive rang Archibalds regarding this, and the job was done but due to customer privacy they were unable to issue another receipt. The Service history book on the car is all original, and nothing has been fraudulently added. para43 (419 • Tuesday, 25 November 2025 )Bugger! Understood, thank you dan_envee (240 • 10:46 pm, Tue, 25 Nov )No problem. Provenance is a must on a classic car. Im pleased the full log book ect is still with it, (as pictured) as you cant just go out and buy another. para43 (419 • Tuesday, 25 November 2025 )Still interested, have you tried swapping the cam position sensor from bank 2 to bank 1 to see if the fault code follows? When it is started before it stalls, how does the engine sound as in misfiring, etc? It’s obviously not running long enough for an engine light to appear on the dash but is still being logged in the ECU. A video of start-up would be ideal if possible? dan_envee (240 • 7:54 pm, Wed, 3 Dec )To be perfectly honest, Ive not got stuck into her as I'm getting my Allroad ready for summer travelling. I wasn't planning of starting on this S4 until the new year, plus I do have more than one car right now that I'm busy with. I really not fussed if she sells, as I will get her running at some point, hence I was advertising this as a summer project for someone. Engine sounds fine, but loud as it has straight pipes added to it, very nicely done. para43 (419 • Wednesday, 3 December 2025 )
