Description
A great example of an Austin A35 Deluxe and rare 2 door model. This 1957 sedan is a piece of British motoring history that's well-preserved for its age. The car features the original 948cc petrol engine paired with a manual gearbox, giving you the classic driving feel these cars are known for. This car was put into dry storage sometime in 1987 and only came back out around 2019 for restoration, a 32 year hibernation.Engine compressions are for numbers 1 & 4 cylinders 175PSi, for numbers 2 & 3 170PSi. The brakes have all been fully overhauled and a power brake servo fitted Being a Deluxe model, it offers more refinements like front and rear bumpers with overriders, rear side windows open rather than standard Austin A35 of the era. The interior comfortably seats 4 passengers and has all new reupholstery including head lining. Two new sunvisors. New modern steering wheel , old one comes with the vehicle along with many spares some old many new.Front brakes are the later 8x1.5 inch two leading shoe type , not the earlier 7x1.25 inch. Windscreen washers are electric. The car is in good working order - everything functions as it should for a vehicle of this vintage. This Austin A35 represents a rare opportunity to own a piece of motoring history that's becoming increasingly hard to find in this condition. The rubber mat in the boot is the original factory one and is still intact. Seller comment Sunday, 9 November 2025 I take it that its 124000mls flashcat1 (236 • 1:21 pm, Tue, 25 Nov )The speedo currently reads 14972 miles , the chassis must have travelled another hundred thousand making it 114,972 miles , however it drives much better than those figures, the compressions and oil pressure readings suggest engine work.
