Background check
This vehicle has been de-registered in the past and then registered again. The registration may have expired because the licence was not kept current or it may have been in an accident and written off by an insurance company.
Description
My Austin Seven 4 seat Open Road tourer is on the market for the first time in over 45 years. This 1937 Austin 7 was originally an Austin factory show car in England until it was sent out to New Zealand in 1939 to be shown at the 1940 Centennial Exhibition which was held in Wellington. It was registered on the 31 December 1939 making it probably the last registered Austin Seven in NZ.. The car was fully restored by me in the 1980s and has done about 10000 miles since. The car was restored taking care to keep it as original as possible including the leather seats. During the motor rebuild we found that the crankshaft is stamped with the original car number. As far as I am aware there is the only one other Mk2 4 seat tourer model in the country. I do have the original ownership papers and plates. The photos tell the rest. About 10 years ago I converted it to 12 volt because I was tired of buying a new 6 volt battery every time I went to use it. If you wondering about the front of the car, the sports and the 4 Seat Tourer did not have a front bumper and have a detachable crank handle which is with the car. It is fully registered ans wof. Please phone if you have any queries. I will not answer any questions here
