1997 BMW 318i E36 model - M43 engine

Selling As-Is. This car is for BMW E36 enthusiasts only, don't buy it for a daily runner or for your young sons and daughters. It has the 1.8-litre four-cylinder M43 petrol engine, factory sun roof, heated front seats and exterior RV mirrors, black leather interior. All guages, ancilliaries, sound equipment including 5-CD stacker (in boot) and ten interior speakers are original. This was built for the European open road, it has been a dream car for road trips. To be honest it is a slow, heavy, gas guzzler around metropolitan Auckland - this was not what I bought it for. Do not buy this car expecting every little thing to last another life time, it is on its second life and little things will continue to need replacing as you'd expect with a beauty of this age and distance travelled (396,128kms). Mid-life replacements: a second hand engine implanted about eight years ago and the GM automatic transmission totally reconditioned. A new drive shaft assembly fitted. Recently replaced new front shock absorbers, all front suspension joints, bushes, inner and outer steering rack joints. The interior headlining has been professionally replaced by an auto trimmer. The body work is rust free and the roof recently re-painted. There is the odd paint scratch and shopping cart ding. Warning - It has recently developed an intermittant rough idle which annoyingly occurs about once a month while stopped at the lights, then dissapears once you move off. It has been to a BMW workshop for this but I'm not convinced it won't happen again. It has a new WOF and is registered. Spare parts that come with the buy: Complete cylinder head assembly including cam cover, sump, engine anciliaries, front right guard.
