Description

This is a fantastic vehicle but one that has been neglected. It has been parked in my driveway for over a year without being moved or turned on. The vehicle was working fine before I stopped driving it but due to it sitting on the driveway for a year it has cosmetic issues such as moss here and three, some of the seals having sun damage and breaking apart etc... The photos are older but the car has lapsed warrant and rego and will have to go through compliance.

As a result of that, the car is sold as is where is. Please note that the photos are old and the car currently looks like it is sitting on the set of the original Jumanji movie - will post a recent photo once I am back in Auckland.

Car is sitting on Niche rims, H&R Lowering springs, a replacement ECU that was installed two years ago by Eurosurgeon. The infotainment system was also fully upgraded which cost over $2k with a genuine BMW unit.

Questions & Answers

  • FAQ: 1. Yes it ran fine before I parked it for a year. No issues with it. 2. No don’t buy it if you are a wrecker. It most likely just needs an engine flush, tranny and it’s ready for compliance. I simply don’t have the time as a dad of 3 and a business - there’s a decent return in it for someone who is willing to spend a few hundred weekends working on it. 3. I’m the second owner - never been thrashed 4. Open to all reasonable offers Seller comment Wednesday, 7 January 2026
  • Does it run ,? escape1972 (2) • 11:42 pm, Wed, 7 Jan Please see the FAQ above - was running fine when I parked it and I am confident it will continue to run fine. I would flush the engine oil first as it has been sitting there for a year. Happy for you to view it. flintconsulting (128) • Wednesday, 7 January 2026
  • What’s the condition of the tyres ditame (58) • 5:46 pm, Fri, 9 Jan They are definitely drive-able but I would change them purely because of how long they have sat in the driveway. flintconsulting (128) • Friday, 9 January 2026
  • Sorry to hear your so busy, big respect for takin on kids and buzo but its hard for me to believe that the rego didnt get put on hold for such a car thats in one piece.those rugrats better appreciate dads time is focused on them and work. Who knows what this would cost to get on road and would of been nice to have interor pics unless hiding kids icecream mess on the back seat lol dan044 (343) • 9:30 am, Wed, 14 Jan That's half the fun - they come first. I've got a few emails from NZTA - I had put the rego on hold but then forgot to renew the hold if that makes sense. They are good kids and appreciate it :) The interior is actually pretty clean - kids didn't spend a lot of time in this car :) I'll take some interior shots and post them today but no rips or anything in upholstery and it's tidy. In terms of getting it up and running - engine flush - tranny flush and you are good to go. flintconsulting (128) • Wednesday, 14 January 2026
  • As to why I haven't done it yet? I've told the wife over the last year that it will get done and I can't for the life of me find the time and i love being married more than the e92 so she needs to go lol. Seller comment Wednesday, 14 January 2026
  • Lol must be a lovely lady then, mint, if its been off the road for over a year, then i see it as been exempt for 12 months then you need to exempt again for up to 12 mths, if you didnt in that 12 months you have to pay the owing months after the exempt finished up to 12, if they didnt hear from you in that 12 months its deregistered and you dont owe any fees.so technically i read it as this has been off the road for over 2 yrs then?please correct me if wrong, rules could be different now dan044 (343) • 10:42 am, Wed, 14 Jan I don't believe anything is owed on it to re-register - I believe it has been deregistered but if there are any fees then I am happy to pay for anything that I am responsible for. Happy to call them and check again. flintconsulting (128) • Wednesday, 14 January 2026
  • Just gutted nzta money grabbing tossers govenment takers for nothing want money for not even jam...back in my day exempt never existed obviously and ive lost a couple regos because of this so im slightly still bitter...old 1975 J1 beddy rest her soul dan044 (343) • 10:44 am, Wed, 14 Jan Yeah it's pretty farked because it clearly has nothing to do with keeping cars on the road but hey - how else do we give council workers a pay rise. flintconsulting (128) • Wednesday, 14 January 2026
  • checked rego is cancelled so re vinning which could cost 750-1000 if nothings wrong with it.basically if someones rego runs out you have 12 mths to exempt it or its re vin time. if you exempt it for 12mths and then didnt exempt again for 12mths = 24mths then its dead rego.you always have 12 mths after your last exempt run out to pay any rego owing then you can exempt it again for ever.sorry to ramble and fill up ya questions, good luck with sale, shes out of my league still but getting cheeper dan044 (343) • 2:25 pm, Wed, 14 Jan fair enough - thank you for the info mate. Here's hoping she fetches a decent price - it's in good condition so hopefully she keeps going up ;) flintconsulting (128) • Wednesday, 14 January 2026
  • You dont have to pay anything only the new owner when they revin dan044 (343) • 2:25 pm, Wed, 14 Jan Awesome. flintconsulting (128) • Wednesday, 14 January 2026
  • Have you got service history for the car? trapcard (0) • 6:37 pm, Thu, 15 Jan Most of it was from eurosurgeon so I could get the records from them. I’ve spent well over 10k on the car flintconsulting (128) • Thursday, 15 January 2026
