‘Snowy’ is now for sale. He has been a faithful and reliable companion for us over the last two years and 11,000 km.

The odd scratch and tiny ding here and there (as to be expected of a 12+ year old car), but otherwise in very good condition. I de-badged him and swapped out the standard seats and steering wheel for a far-superior set of MSport alcantara seats and MSport leather steering wheel. The driving experience from this rear wheel drive SUV is now highly satisfying as well as comfortable on its non-MSport suspension. An ideal set-up in my opinion (having owned an MSport X1 previously).

Great utility is provided by 40/60 split folding rear seat backs and an aftermarket tow bar (very handy for trailering rubbish to the dump!). There are also HID headlights (with ‘angel eyes’) that have a wash function. Quality Goodyear run flat tyres all have a minimum of 4mm of tread.

The torquey diesel engine and smooth eight-speed auto, combined with (rare) opening sunroof and cruise control with speed limiter (that very usefully works going downhill!), makes this car a wonderful long-distance tourer, that is also incredibly fuel efficient (6.2 l/100km around town, even better on a road trip).

I’ve recently replaced the air filter and cleaned the MAF sensor and have kept all servicing receipts. There is also 5,000+ km of RUCs left - worth about $400.

I am a car enthusiast who changes cars frequently (something else already purchased, so no swaps, thanks), but ‘Snowy’ was almost the car I would keep for ever; he is that good.

Value is subjective, but there is genuine value here with the car priced to sell.
