1982 Cadillac Seville
Background check
This vehicle has been de-registered in the past and then registered again. The registration may have expired because the licence was not kept current or it may have been in an accident and written off by an insurance company.
Description
Relatively Rare - less than 20,000 cars of this model produced by Cadillac in 1982 - Cadillac Seville has unusual shape / design, is dressed in Beige & Brown paint; the Body and Interior are in an excellent condition, although the car is currently not running due to electrical / ignition problems that our car electrician has attempted to fix – unfortunately, at this stage without progress, so we were tired to wait and invest more in repairs, and finally have made an undesired decision to sell the vehicle as it is. We currently have an offer from a neighbour, we haven't accepted or rejected it yet, but decided to test the market first.
The original Owners Manual Book is present. The REGO is on hold, so can be renewed once the new WOF is issued for the next owner. Low mileage of less than 12,500 miles – not kilometres. According to CarJam.co.nz there are only 2 cars of this make, year and model in NZ. Transmission is 4-Speed Automatic. The engine is HT-4100 (option code LT8) - a 4100 cc V8 «Cadillac High Technology Engine». The radio / audio system is not included in this sale.
As per our electrician’s description of the issues: "Original issue: engine will crank over yet very hard to start. When the engine was running it was over fueling and running extremely rich. Have to remove spark plugs and clean them to restart. Computer and MAP sensor have been swapped out - no change. In the testing process the engine failed to start, the fault got worse. Removed fuel tank, replaced internal fuel line. The starter motor brushes worn out - replaced brushes. Engine had a spark but little to no injection pulse. Now the engine does not start – very noisy on attempt. The body electrics all work, the electric windows are slow".
Any questions please feel free to ask (text on mob. 021-0675-045), although the best way to clarify any specific questions is to inspect the car in person and talk to a professional, as the vehicle is still stored at our electrician’s workshop in Wellington CBD. Pick up is also from Wellington.
