Up for sale is this very rare and unique 1958 Chevrolet Delray Coupe. This is very desirable body style and a true classic. In 1958 Chevrolet was at the peak of its’ creative styling and designs. When plenty of chrome, lots of stainless and beautiful curves and body lines that all flow together to create the perfect piece of automotive history. To take you back to when GM was at the pinnacle of its’ engineering and designs and took its place as the top car company of the world. The 1958 is where it all started and here is your chance to own one. This Delray body style was dropped for 1959, effectively making it one-year wonder. This car was one of two chosen to be in the 2005 nationally televised Boscov (Macy's) Thanksgiving Day Parade.
It has a 350 cu in engine with tri-power, a 350 turbo 3 speed trans, bar grille, a louvered bonnet with stainless plate under hood, 1956 PONTIAC side moldings, hood dummy spotlights and lake pipes, Mickey Thompson mags with white wall tires, a white rolled and pleated inferior (including the boot), shaved door handles with push button activation, solenoid trunk release, power antenna, under dash gauges, side skirts. Imported into NZ by myself in 2008. LVV cert for modifications was obtained back in 2012. A frame off rust repairs were finished in 2023 and the car got complied and registered in July 2023. Comes with a stack of receipts for new parts and hundreds of photos of rust repairs (floor and sills).
This is one fun car waiting to be run. It wants to be center stage, begging to be driven and collecting attention. It is similar to Biscayne, Bel Air and Impala.
