1969 Chrysler 300
Background check
Description
Parting ways with my 1969 Chrysler 300, which is a full size classic American sedan with the 7.2-litre V8 (440 cubic inch)engine. Listed wrong On-Line. All 1969 300's were big blocks. First imported into New Zealand in 1970, and it's got plenty of presence from when it was last on the road.
The car is spacious inside, which is typical of these big American sedans from the era. The engine and transmission are in good condition, but the rest of the car does need some work to bring it up to a higher standard. There is a lot of structural rust. Especially around the back window and boot. It's a brave project for someone who appreciates classic cars and wants to put a lot of effort into it.
The V8 gives it that classic rumble and character though exhaust leaks that you'd expect from a late 60s Chrysler. The auto works well with the engine for a relaxed driving experience. The power steering is excellent. The 26inch radiator has had a recore.
It's a genuine piece of motoring history and would suit someone looking for a project or a classic car enthusiast who wants something different from the usual offerings. There are some electrical and other faults with the Chrysler. There are some parts missing and panel damage. The headlight covers do work.
The sub will be removed before the Chrysler is sold.
Registration is on hold.
Viewing is highly recommended to avoid disappointment.
