1935 DeSoto Airstream

Bought as an easy driveable project then sure enough a few weeks later ran in to issues with the house which requires big work so now forced to sell toys.
In very original condition with few minor incorrect period details but is very much like stepping right back into 1935. Needs new tyres as current ones have small cracks. Some very minor surface rust underneath where undercoat has worn off (paint not rubber). Chassis was fully galvanized during a previous resto some time ago. Body paint is a little tired & had some bubbling, I thought it was rust but have popped nearly all of these to find only air between paint layer & filler-primer skim coat & shiny steel under that. No bog other than thin all over skim coating. Looks very striking with her beautiful shape and chrome. A bit of pitting on the front and rear bumper.
Taken off the road in 2018 when previous mechanic owner rebuilt engine & transmission, they put 1500 miles on her after that. Unfortunately with so much bad happening since I bought her I haven't run her as much as I should and now she's running a bit rough, turns over and will idle on full choke but quite weak and dies under any throttle, I haven't got the time money or energy to fix this, hence the price! Went on lots of runs around town when I first got her and she went like a scowlded cat given her age, the straight 6 in this one was the biggest available at the time & for quite a few years.
Electrics have been upgraded to 12v negative earth alternator which makes life much easier but it's all there to convert her back to 6v+. Currently no right hand side inner wheel/engine guard & headlamp trims, taken off during engine rebuild. Owner was moving house at time of sale & are still setting up, happy to pay you back if I fail to procure these within a reasonable time. Left wiper blade blew away, easy enough to buy
Once given a little TLC these cars are worth close to $40k or more so kicking myself as she doesn't need much but house has to come first
