1998 Daimler Other Super V8

Beautifully presented and very rare Daimler Super V8 finished in Emerald Green (Metallic) with Catkin trim and Pine contrast piping.

This example was sold new into China in 1998 and imported into New Zealand in 2007 at only 76,283 km. Timing chain, tensioner & water pump upgrade completed at 82,500 km

The Daimler name was applied to the highest trim level which included chromed mirrors, handles and door trim, fluted radiator grille surround and boot plinth along with Solar wheels.

Inside the Daimler received rich Burr Walnut veneer, the world’s finest Connolly leather stitched in a ruched style, heated front and rear seats, rear sunblind, rear occasional tables and individual power adjustable rear seats.

Under the bonnet the Daimler Super V8 carried the 4L Supercharged V8 from the XJR and CATS suspension.

A mere 2,387 were built and only a few of these magnificent saloons made their way to our shores. This particular example has been used sparingly hence the very low kilometres. The car is in impeccable condition with the original delivery blue plastic still on the passenger stainless steel sill trims and original lamb’s wool over rugs for the passengers.

Fitted with four new Hankook Ventus Prime4 tyres, factory Harman Kardon premium audio system & factory CD changer.

In 1997 the Daimler Super V8 was the most expensive saloon that Jaguar produced at £62,775 compared to the XJ Sport 3.2 at £34,475. The Jaguar XJR was £50,675.

When Jaguar ceased production of the X300 Daimler Double Six (V12), the X308 Daimler Super 8 was the successor.

The only Supercharged X308 that was available in LWB (All XJR’s are SWB). All Supercharged cars featured the Mercedes-Benz W5A580 transmission as opposed to the ZF 5HP24 of the non S/C.
