For sale: 1985 Daimler Sovereign LWB – only 58,000 km from new. A beautifully preserved long-wheelbase Daimler, the higher-spec equivalent of the same-year Jaguar, featuring four individual bucket seats and factory speed control. Very rare in New Zealand and an absolute pleasure to drive.

Originally purchased new—believed to be in Dubai—by a Christchurch resident, who later brought it home. It was subsequently sold through Kevin Woods Motors to another Christchurch owner before my father purchased it around 15 years ago.

Recent maintenance and improvements include:

Oil and filter change

New spark plugs

New Bilstein front shocks

New fuel injectors

Replacement fuel tanks

New fuel pump

New fuel tank level sensors

New fuel tank solenoid valve

New automatic transmission mount

New Michelin tyres

Condition: The vehicle is tidy, straight, and perfectly usable as-is. However, the paintwork is showing its age. It presents well, but a high-quality repaint would be required for anyone seeking concours-standard finish. The air conditioning needs a regas, and the cruise control is currently not operating.

Included: Original woollen front mats, handbooks, and receipts. Sold with current registration and WOF. This car was specified new with North American bumpers which make it unique in New Zealand.

Yes definitely the mileage is correct. The Daimler was not used for 15 years and all the work was required was due to recommissioning the car. It didn't need all injectors replaced or the front shocks but we decided it would make the car more reliable as a result. It starts on first turn of the key.
