Thanks to its smooth Jaguar XK inline-six engine and tall gearing, the engine remains highly relaxed and quiet; At these speeds the engine is barely ticking over, and it's capable of effortless, whisper-quiet cruising at 85 to 100 mph. At the time of its release, the model was dubbed the "fastest full four-seater in the world".
