1973 Jaguar XJ6 XJ6 with Air Conditioning
Background check
Description
Selling my English assembled and NZ new 1973 Jaguar XJ6 sedan. This is a classic piece of British engineering with a 4.2-litre straight-six petrol engine that's known for its smooth character. I brought this car not long ago as a barn find off a deceased estate, It had not been on the road since 1993 the warrant on the screen expired 3 June 1993. the first two pictures are how it was when I collected it. I Brought the car home and went about getting the engine recommissioned, I checked the compression at an even 155psi to 160 on all 6 cylinders, i replaced one fuel pump , new oil and filter , i had it running and it sounded great with 70psi oil pressure dropping to 45-50 hot, gearbox went through all the gears. down side was no brakes and needs new shocks also diff seals. I have brought all new seals for the callipers which will go with the car. Unfortunately last time I drove the car around the block the head gasket went, No doubt from sitting so long, the car has surface rust on the lower panels but its only surface, i have found no rust holes, floor pans are perfect. front seats are amazing as they were covered with fitted sheep skins, the back seat will need cleaned and recolored with a repair needed at the middle top. I spent $800 on having all the wheels sand blasted and powder coated , new trim rings then $1750 on brand new tyres that have only been around the block. Im sad to sell this car but due to getting old and less enthusiasm than I thought i had, I decided to sell. With a bit of work this will be a stunning classic, It is also rather rare being fitted with air conditioning from factory and being English assembled. All the electrics work, windows, wipers lights and indicators etc.
