2020 LDV G10 Cargo Diesel Manual
Background check
Description
Down-sizing means that after nearly six years happily driving this LDV, we are selling our 2020 ( registered September )LDV G10, cargo version, diesel, manual, van. We are the first owners of this NZ new vehicle. It has travelled 86,000 kms with much of it long distance ( i.e. hot) running. I have read adverse reviews on these vehicles but we have found “Vinnie” a fantastic unit. Vinnie is silver with the basic leatherette and cloth upholstery. It is rear-wheel drive and powered by a 1.9 TDI diesel, mated to a six-speed manual box. With heaps of torque ( rated 350Nms ((c.f. the petrol version at 200Nms)), this van drives like a car. The original brochure, which I still have, advertises “Lotus calibrated chassis, and ESP safety system by Bosch, Anti-skid brakes (ABS) electronic brake force distribution (EBD) and emergency brake assist (EBA). The power steering is light but positive. With one exception it has been faultlessly reliable but that one event had a very good ending. In June 2022, at 37308 kms, the engine developed a nasty knocking. Without question, LDV New Zealand quickly replaced the whole motor and the van has gone faultlessly since. It means that, at 86,000 kms, this engine has done just 48,700 kms. After about 70,000 kms on the original tyres we fitted four new tyres last year. It comes with a tow bar fitted and has reversing cameras and sensors. Vinnie is long and it has an absolutely cavernous carrying capacity of 5.2M3. We have it rigged to carry our e-bikes but the bar holding those unbolts. This is the perfect tradie’s van or would be great to convert to a camper. It is astonishingly economical: I have read fuel figures of 12 litres plus per 100 kilometres but as the photo shows we get and, with one exception, have always got between 6.5 and 6.6 litres per 100. The only exception was towing an 8x4 trailer with a stock crate loaded with firewood through to Dunedin and consumption rose to 6.8 litres per 100. Yes, it has stone chips and paint defects: you are welcome to inspect.
