Description

Please - no more messages about trades - we need the money for a new house purchase.

Up for sale is my lovely Elise S2 from 2002. This car was the very first S2 in NZ and was the cover on NZ Classic Car magazine (October 2002). ELIISE plate included.

Low 56xxx kms (NOT miles) and has only been driven in the dry on weekends in my ownership (just on 3yrs). I had the plastic vents and intake grills replaced with new OEM ones and kept up with all servicing etc. It's been garaged in my ownership and cherished dearly.

There are millions of reviews of these cars online and they're all true - this is the best car I've ever owned and loved and every single drive is an experience. I never thrashed it or gave it hell, it was only ever used as a sunny cruiser through my local valleys. It has a soft top, but it's not been used in years. Last time I did drive in the rain was the day I bought it and there were no ingress issues even at 100kph.

It has been incredibly reliable and the only issue I've had was an aux belt replacement after it started squeaking. It gets plugged into a trickle charger after each drive as the immobiliser will drain the battery after 2-3 weeks if not driven (Found out the hard way there). I always waited till the car reached temperature and oil pressure before giving it any oomph above 3.5k rpm.

It has had services throughout its life (image added or receipts) and any work needed has always been carried out - usually when picked up at WoF time.

The only mod to this car is a Lairini exhaust, which was fitted by a previous owner. The car sounds mean as now, especially on accelerator lift offs where it burbles away. So cool.

Car is based in Havelock North and I'm only selling so we can buy a new house (VERY regretful sale, but one day I'll have another one - or an Exige).

Questions & Answers

  • The advisory mentioned looks like it was from late 2002 when the car first came into the country. Not sure why? Press car maybe? Its had consistent registration since then though. Seller comment Sunday, 17 May 2026

  • beautiful car any damage looks mint? last service? tyre condition ? soft top condition ? any photos of engine bay and alloys thanks gobdoc (0) • 4:56 pm, Thu, 21 May Hi - No damage to the car - its really looking fantastic for a 24yo low roadster. Last service was in January (and every Jan since I've owned it - approx every 2000km)). Tires are fine with plenty of tread etc. Soft top All good, but has a small scrape on it towards rear, but its intact, looks good and is and fully functional. Alloys very nice with only one scrape on the front left. I'll get some photos when I can be at home during sunlight hours - prob Saturday morning. rosiejoy (526) • Thursday, 21 May 2026

  • Reason for re-rego ? ahs it got NZ maps and radio ?, cheers reason for re-rego ?, NZ maps and radio ? cheers looks nice mtrsport (739) • 11:33 pm, Sat, 23 May No idea about the re-rego. If you look on Carjam, it happened when it was imported new in 2002. It has had consistent rego since then. NZ maps?? Oh dear lord no. Its from 2002. The map is the winding road in front of you! It doesn't even have a glovebox for an old school paper map:). It has a radio / CD player, but I never use it. The best music is the exhaust note and overrun with the roof off. rosiejoy (526) • Saturday, 23 May 2026
