2006 Mazda Bongo
Background check
Description
Selling my 2006 Mazda Bongo compact van. It's easy to drive for its size, with the 1.8-litre petrol engine and auto. The elevated driving position gives good visibility in traffic. A fun and easy to drive van for road trips, easy camping, festivals.
The van is in excellent condition mechanically but has some minor superfical rust spots on the paintwork that have just started to show. Everything is in great working order, had a pre purchase inspection done and only thing that needs attention is the cam belt.
Installed a new awning in October. The roof racks add extra carrying capacity when needed. A fridge runs separately on a deepcycle battery which needs replacing. The bed easily pulls out to a double, plenty of storage throughout, there is a double gas stove, all cutlery and utensils, cooking pots etc. Plus water tanks for grey water and rain water, a sink and toilet.
It has been set up previously to be certified self contained, but needs some adjustment of the toilet for new regulations. I didn't need to be self contained so haven't done it myself. I have replaced tyres late last year and it was serviced in March. I've been overseas most of the past 12 months so the van hasnt been driven much but was regularly kept running by a friend. I had a new WoF done in October, valid for a year. Rego until March.
As an imported model, I'm one of four New Zealand owners it's had. The Bongo is known for its space efficiency and practical design - the sliding doors are particularly useful in tight parking spots.
Features:
- 1780cc petrol engine
- Automatic transmission
- Compact dimensions for easy parking
- Roof racks fitted
- Low running costs
- Versatile for work or daily use
