2014 Mazda CX-5 Diesel – Known Issue, Priced Accordingly
Selling my 2014 Mazda CX-5 diesel. It was working fine, but unfortunately am now selling it with a known mechanical issue, which has been fully diagnosed and reflected in the asking price. It is otherwise in good, tidy condition.
The vehicle was inspected by a mechanic after the heater stopped working. They have confirmed the cooling system is pressurising due to a suspected blown head gasket or cracked cylinder head — a fault that is unfortunately well known in these diesel CX-5 engines
The estimated cost to repair is at least $5,000, but possibly could be up to $10,000 depending on the extent of internal damage. On that basis, the sale price has been set with the cost of repair fully taken into account.
