1993 Mazda MX-5 **Unicorn - NZ New 44kms Limited Edition**
Background check
Description
Fresh air. Rear-wheel drive. And just enough mischief to make every corner worth taking twice. This NZ-new MX-5 has lived the good life — very low mileage, beautifully kept, new battery and every bit as nimble and honest as the day it rolled off the line. Still on its original mint soft top with a clear rear window after 32 years! Enkei wheels fitted but also comes with the original Daisy alloys.
Slide into the snug cockpit, drop the top, and remember what driving used to feel like before power steering, aircon, touchscreens and lane-keep nagging. She does have electric windows and a tape deck though! The paint gleams, the gearbox snicks, and the roof drops in seconds — just in time for the sunshine.
Perfect for summer weekends, spontaneous detours, or anyone who believes joy should come with a clutch pedal.
Serious enthusiasts and anoraks welcome — happy to talk details over the phone, but I will not be running an online forum via the comments section.
Price is reflective of rarity and condition, those with an issue can chase the other NZ new low mileage limited’s for sale on TM ;) The boy racers have modified and worn out most of the current stock of MX5/Miata’s, so future value looks bright (similar situation to the old RX2,3 and 4’s?).
Questions & Answers

No accidents that we are aware of. Feel free to call for further details. gasser-rc-heli (53 • Wednesday, 24 December 2025 )A friend owned this twice and sold it to the sellers’s brother. It’s the most outstanding example, of the ‘93 NZ Ltds (one of 30). One of the lowest mileage MX5s in NZ and certainly one of the most desirable examples. If I’d bought it 8 years ago, I’d be keeping it. arnold500 (351 • 4:51 pm, Sat, 27 Dec )Thanks for the info, I’m also thinking of not letting it go! gasser-rc-heli (53 • Saturday, 27 December 2025 )Beauty!
