2005 Mercedes-Benz ML 500 Full Offroad Package
Background check
Description
Extremely rare ML W164 with off-road package, as far as I'm aware this is the only one on sale in NZ.
Low mileage and very tidy interior.
Taken straight out of the G-Wagen, comes with factory low range, mechanical central and rear locking diffs, all fully functional. The Hill Descent Control and other electronics control system (4ETS) complete the package.
This ML500 has the famous M113, renowned to be one of the best engines Mercedes ever made! Forget about the problematics M272 and M273, this is the engine you want. Very rare to see this generation of ML with these engines, they’ll probably outlast the apocalipse. Engine runs smooth, without any issues, and has 0 errors on the scanner.
Comes with factory air suspension that raises the car to significant height. Air suspension was well serviced, and is fully functional.
Replaced last month a plethora of parts, see the attached pic of the brand new spares. Changed the following:
- Oil with Castrol 5W40
- Oil filter
- Air filter
- Pollen filter
- Hood struts
- Oil cooler, including seals
- Camshaft sensor
- Crankshaft sensor
- Anti-roll bar bushes
- Vacuum lines
- Auxiliary battery - Bosch S5AX1
- Main battery - Bosch LN5
- Driver side window control buttons
- Wheel center caps
Gearbox was serviced by Mercedes Botany last year, including controller module replacement ($2500 job).
The aftermarket CD player has Apple Carplay and Bluetooth, so it’s pretty much in line with modern times. The heated comfort seats, with multiple levels of bottom and lumbar adjustment makes any trip very pleasant.
Drives nice, and several categories above your pesky rundown and worn out Pajero, Land Cruiser, Hilux, Patrol, or Ranger, being as capable, if not even more capable, in the field. Too underrated for what it is.
