2009 Mercedes-Benz Vito 111 Cdi Ka/E Crewbus
Description
Looking for a versatile family vehicle? This 2009 Mercedes-Benz Vito 111 Cdi Crewbus offers seating for 11 people, making it rare in the passenger vehicle market. Being NZ new with three owners, this diesel van has the reliable build quality Mercedes-Benz is known for. We’ve had it quite a few years (maybe nearly 10?) it’s been an epic family vehicle being the long wheel base you can seat 9 plus have huge boot space, almost have to see it to believe it. Handles like a car on the road and way better in the corners than previous vans we’ve had like the Granvia. Pretty sad to see it go really, but the kids are starting to leave home now and it’s not getting used. Rear wheel drive, towing is a breeze. In the years we’ve had it the only mechanical apart from regular servicing has been glow plugs about 3 years ago, a blown hose ($80 from Mercedes), just put a new blower in the cabin fan, new battery this year.
The 2.2-litre diesel engine is fuel efficient for a vehicle of this size, keeping running costs reasonable. The manual transmission is well-suited for a vehicle of this capacity, especially when fully loaded.
Useful features include:
- Tow bar fitted for hauling extra gear
- Reversing camera for easier parking
- Spacious interior with multiple seating options
- Reliable commercial-grade durability
- Fuel-efficient diesel engine
- Upgraded double din stereo with Apple CarPlay
- Aftermarket alloy wheels
Cons
- my wife had a bird fly into the front grill so there is a bit of broken plastic
- the left passenger mirror got hit by a basketball and broke the mount, pretty solid with tape around the mount, has been like that for a while
- a bit of wear on a couple of seats
- general wear and tear for a family vehicle of this age
This Vito bridges the gap between commercial van and family vehicle, making it ideal for larger families, sports teams, or anyone needing to transport groups. The higher seating capacity is a standout feature that's hard to find in other vehicles. Have any questions? Feel free to ask!
