Questions & Answers
Where does the oil drip from. Is the rust around the window a major ( windscreen out and new metal put in) or surface ( sand seal and paint) gasa_g (175 • 10:42 pm, Sun, 14 Dec )Hi, sorry for delay, I wanted to double check under the car. Actually very little oil dripping but what's there looks to be coming from around where gearbox and engine joins and maybe from oil pan seal. I'm told the cork gaskets do often weep. The paint bubble is minor, it's only in that one little spot and it hasn't changed at all in the last couple of years, I've been keeping an eye on it. I would say it's just surface rust or bad paint prep. Hope that helps Cheers captross (238 • Sunday, 14 December 2025 )Thanks for the reply. I'm just worried the rear main seal is leaking and I don't fancy an engine out scenario. Sump gaskets can be done with an oil change. Is the rocker cover gasket ok? gasa_g (175 • 2:27 pm, Mon, 15 Dec )Yep, I know what you mean, it may possibly be that, I'm not sure how you would find out for sure apart from separating the engine and gearbox. The mechanic that did the tune up said it's very minimal so it wasn't a major concern to him. The rocker cover gasket looks pretty good, maybe a little bit weepy right at the front. captross (238 • Monday, 15 December 2025 )Gday mate, hey I'm just in process of getting my sebring certified and I was wondering if you might be able to share an up close photo of how you mounted the seatbelt retractors at the top of the rear wheel arch? Text me on 0272045348 if you can that would be amazing deanox (99 • 6:08 pm, Mon, 15 Dec )No prob, will do. captross (238 • Monday, 15 December 2025 )
