Description

1981 Mini Anniversary. Current owner 24 Years

This is an Anniversary Mini, built in NZ to celebrate 20 years of CKD production in New Zealand. Production of Anniversary Mini’s commenced in March 1980. Anniversary Minis were a special edition model with just over 100 being built. The Anniversary Minis all had metallic grey paint, twin spot lights, a vinyl roof and Anniversary badging.

JZ1800 was first registered on 12 February 1981. It has been with the current owner since 15 August 2001, i.e. for over 24 years.

JZ1800 is in very good condition. The exterior body is faithful to the original Anniversary appearance. The interior upholstery is original as is the carpet in the boot.

The original engine was 998cc. The current engine is 1275cc, an A Plus engine and gearbox. This 1275 engine has a 12G940 head with improved breathing, a raised compassion ratio, a HIF44 SU carburettor, duplex timing chain and electronic ignition. The first part of the engine number is 12HC02AA.

The clutch has a blue diaphragm clutch cover from Mini Spares. The driven plate is for road and fast road, from Mini Spares.

Differential has a 3.44:1 ratio, which is usual.

On the front, stopping is by 7.5 inch disc brakes as per Cooper S. Brake pads are AP Racing CP2399D43 and the friction material is APF405. Rear brakes are original mini drums but ground to round.

Rear shock absorbers are Monroe R1531.

JZ1800 is certified; certification number 63470.

Our mini has been part of the family for many years. We have had a lot of fun with it. We are offering it for sale due to family health issues.

  • Very awesome car!, I have one as well that someone has unfortunately painted green , I’d be very interested in speaking to the next owner to get the colour code so I can repaint mine bleereed (32) • 8:06 pm, Thu, 6 Nov Hi, Thanks for your comment, yes these minis are a lot of fun. The colour is a metallic dark grey, but nowhere on the body is there a sticker to define the exact colour. "Mini Down Under" does not define the colour of Annivesary Minis. You are welcome to view the car. suds4 (104) • Thursday, 6 November 2025
