Description
Up for sale is Jake, my 1980 Morris Mini LE in factory Sandglow Yellow with vinacoat textured roof.
He has a 998cc engine with 4-speed manual. Odometer reads approximately 144,541kms. I'm the 4th owner and have owned him since 1998, so he's been with me a long time and has always been well cared for.
The family has outgrown him, and he just isn't getting the use or TLC he used to from the kids, so it's time for someone else to enjoy him properly.
Mods and upgrades:
- 1.5" SU carb with stub ram tube
- Alloy Lynx intake manifold (LCB)
- Centre exit exhaust with stainless Cooper S muffler and chrome tip
- Honda electric distributor
- Reverse Cooper rims
Runs and drives great, sounds awesome through the muffler, and is a proper fun cafe racer built to be driven, enjoyed, and thrown down a back road with a bit of attitude.
Cosmetic-wise:
- He has non-original driver's seat (vinyl instead of factory fabric - we still have the original fabric driver's seat though)
- A lot of stickers and a relatively rare rear Mini louvre (can come with two blank rear windows as well)
- Some rips/holes in the carpet
- Original leather gear knob will be included but need restoring
- Passenger sun visor is signed by the Goodbye Pork Pie (2016) cast and crew
The rare valence will eventually need replacing, this isn't obvious though and hasn't caused him to fail a WOF at all. For the trouble, he'll come with a new replacement panel.
His WOF expires 11/10/2026 and registration expires 09/26. He qualifies for the 12-month registration and cheap WOF costs.
Jake is a survivor, as he's gone unrestored for a pretty long time, and would be a decent blank canvas for those interested.
