1964 Morris Other Oxford
Background check
Description
1964 Morris Oxford station wagon that's been a practical classic to own. This is a car with genuine character and utility. Not many of these around in New Zealand. A unique Morris for your collection.
It has the 1.8-litre petrol engine paired with a 5 speed manual gearbox, which makes it straightforward to drive for a vehicle of this era. Miles, not Kilometres. Being a station wagon, it offers a good amount of space inside for passengers and cargo. Has been to Bunnings on several occasions. Could also make a fantastic retro surfers wagon.
The car comes fitted with roof racks and a tow bar, both of which add to its usefulness. It's in good working order overall and gets you where you need to go, though it does need some work - as you'd expect with a classic of this age. Brand new battery. Kept in a garage. Comes with a random selection of spare parts, including some panels and tail lights
If you're after a classic station wagon with space and character, this hard to find Morris Oxford is worth a look.
Happy to answer any questions you might have to my best knowledge. Not a mechanic, just crazy enough to love older cars.
Questions & Answers
Has this car being certified for a 5 speed gearbox? Thanks cadallard (985 • 4:41 pm, Mon, 6 Apr )Pretty sure it was. Done before I owned it, and I have taken it through several wofs etc. Apparently a Datsun 5 speed, as they fitted nicely into the english car. airbrushartist (19 • Monday, 6 April 2026 )Can you please photograph the cert plate and add it to the listing. Thanks cadallard (985 • 6:05 pm, Mon, 6 Apr )Just been in the garage, I can't find one on the car. Previous owner had it for years, and the engine bay has been repainted while he owned it. All, I can say is that I have had zero issues wof wise. Sorry. Not helpful. airbrushartist (19 • Monday, 6 April 2026 )Hello, in the second photo of engine bay, the side of the block looks like a 00 (1800cc) instead of 22 which it would be if it was a 1622cc engine. Can you please check and confirm if this an 1800cc engine and if so is there any certification for that also? Cheers xpatkiwi (575 • 8:58 am, Wed, 8 Apr )Nicely spotted. I didn't see that on the auto fill info. Yes, its a 1800cc engine. No certification needed on engines with less than a 20% increase (and no turbos etc). It's under the Power Increase Threshold. Been through several wofs with no issue. airbrushartist (19 • Wednesday, 8 April 2026 )Took a photo of the 1800 embossed on the engine block. Seller comment Wednesday, 8 April 2026 Dos the heater work cheers splitterman (12 • 5:42 am, Thu, 9 Apr )Nope. Maybe you can purchase one of the many other Morris Oxfords available. airbrushartist (19 • Monday, 4 May 2026 )Hello, freaky we were just talking about “Molly” and wondering where she had got to, put a search on Google and here she is!! We had her for over 10 years, such a great drive, even drove her all the way to the South Island from Auckland for a year, didn’t miss a beat. We even slept in the back a few times. Nice to see the engine work, still needs a little spot work on her body but we still think she is pretty cool, especially with the great racks ;) All the best with the sale. tineke7 (331 • 9:57 pm, Sat, 23 May )That's very cool! I wouldn't be selling her, if I wasn't dumb enough to buy another older car. Only have a double garage (can't have three older cars). airbrushartist (19 • Saturday, 23 May 2026 )Hi...how can I view the car... adilriaz (86 • 10:37 pm, Mon, 1 Jun )I'm in whangarei central.
