Description
Morris 8 Sports 1936
Circumstances compel the reluctant sale of this beautiful little car. Manufactured 1935, first reg. NZ 1936.
A well looked after and tidy, reliable fun drive. Full Hood with Quarter light panels and door Screens, plus rear tonneau cover.
The last WOF was witheld on 2 counts. An indicator bulb and a noisy wheel bearing. Both matters were fixed.
Comments that weren’t a fail were - replace LHR tyre ‘soon’ although spare is good, and slight play in LHF kingpin.
So, to my knowledge there is nothing impeding on safe, reliable motoring going forward.
Last year I had the generator refurbished and it’s given the 6V system a great boost. The petrol gauge (sender unit needs clean) has never been accurate- it’s easy to keep a record of mileage against fuel added. I always use leading additive and pre-mix in tote tank so it’s easy to know what’s gone in vs miles. Using it usually couple times a week it’s a fun reliable drive. It’s a lovely looking little car - was restored probably 20 years ago and while not in concurs cond. it’s very tidy and reflects the cars age and originality admirably. The paintwork is generally good… in the years I’ve had it there’s been some small blisters on the doors…local paint shop said when painting years ago likely moisture got trapped…never got around to doing anything as its general appearance is very good. When new regs required ‘indicators’ to be added ‘trafficators’ were fitted by previous owner… the odometer ticks away and it’s most likely original miles although I can’t verify. Motor/gearbox/diff all running well. Serviced properly. Hood, upholstery, tonneau in very good condition.
A real show stopper - always turns heads and brings a wave and a smile!
Car is in Cambridge
