Limited Release Pontiac Firebird 1979 Trans AM
One of 8326 Pontiac Firebird 1979 Trans AMs with a T/A 6.6 W72 Pontiac 400 engine, manual transmission, heavy-duty suspension and 323 limited slip differential (wikipedia.org/wiki/Pontiac_Firebird):
“The W72 Pontiac 400 6.6L V8 was available for a short period and in limited supply. [...]During period dyno testing, the National Hot Rod Association rated the T/A 6.6 W72 Pontiac 400 engine at 260–280 net horsepower, which was significantly higher than Pontiac's conservative rating of 220 hp”
We've recently rebuilt the front suspension:
- Bushings
- Shocks
- Ball joints
- Hardware With all removed parts powder coated.
We've also replaced the rear sway bar bushings, and powder coated the sway bar and mounts.
We've upgraded and replaced:
- Alternator
- Starter motor
- Intake manifold
- Headers
- Carb spacer
- Air filter
- Shaker hood
- Earth upgrade
- Reconditioned radiator
- Heater core
- Door handles
- Valve covers
- Most of the rubbers
- Some of the interior panels
The Trans AM has a sound and alarm system:
- AVS 5 star alarm with remote central locking
- Rainbow AE-30TH65 speakers
- Sound deadened floor, boot floor, and part of the doors
- Custom speaker mounts and rear tray
The vehicle is now being sold with the custom boot removed.
Original engine parts if the buyer wants to take it back to stock: intake manifold, exhaust manifolds, and rocker covers
And as part of the package, you get:
- Additonal front seats, good condition in a different fabric and colour
- Spare rear and side windows
- Rubber valve cover gaskets

Its the WS6 package whick means its factory 4 wheel disks, heavy duty syspention and the limited slip differential. No dorr build stickers. I've just rebuilt the front suspension and had all the factory parts powered coated, new bushings and front shocks.
