2008 Porsche Cayenne S
Background check
Description
NZ new two company owners. This was Giltrap's demonstrator. My company bought it from the 1st owner's company in 2017. Being company cars, if something needed fixing, it was fixed.
Has the features you want in a Cayenne:
- S model - 385HP not the thirsty turbo or puny 6
- Active suspension - smooths speed humps round town, handles like a sports car on the open road.
- Height adjustable - really can go off road. Also has diff locks and a low ratio.
- Apple Air Play Android Auto Bluetooth. I swapped out the factory radio for a top model JVC
- USB C phone charger
- Reversing camera
If buying one of these check out that the known problems are sorted:
- Plastic cooling tubes in engine. These should be replaced with aluminium
- Carden shaft bearing - the rubber fails around 80 - 120,000km
- Rear door struts - the get weaker with age. There are 4 and they are buried in the roof
- Spark plugs replaced. They last around 100,000km. There are 8 @ $35 each plus hours for the mechanic to get to them. Just serviced and did the plugs
I had few bonus repairs. I replaced the alternator a few years back and had to replace the AC pump a couple of years ago. This might sound bad, but it is over 9 years of ownership so really pretty good. Especially considering this was a $250k car new.
Services typically cost $800 - $1,100. Flew through warrant a couple of weeks ago. Tyres around 5mm. I get about 50,000km out of a set.
Was always serviced at Giltrap's until a couple of years ago when I moved to a closer Porsche specialist, Aero Automotive.
Condition is great for age. There is a small dent in the bonnet. Happened recently, not sure what. Could be paintless dent removed I think. One of original rear mudflaps disappeared so I removed them. Some marks in paint as a result. A few marks inside
Handles like a sports car. Unbelievable for size.
2 keys Climate control Rain sensing wipers Auto headlights Factory tow bar roof bars Leather seats heated memory Traction control ABS etc. Factory carpets and rubber mat in boot
