2014 Porsche Panamera S E-Hybrid

Bought this on a whim a couple years ago as a "Sunday drive". I've ended up doing about 15,000 km since. Over summer we've kept it garaged in Christchurch and enjoyed many trips down to the southern lakes. In winter it comes home to Whangarei.

It's an excellent open-road cruiser and would suit someone doing a lot of highway miles. Sitting at 110-ish on the Waikato Expressway is absolutely sublime -- whisper quiet and super-comfy.

We've loved every mile we've driven in this car: it's a quiet, economical EV around town and a howling beast on the open road. It corners flat and confidently. Incredible road presence. Plenty of power to boot.

Battery and HV system all works well, I charge it at home on my Tesla charger and can get to work and back (15 km) on full electric. On the open road the best I've done is 35-40 km without having to spin up the petrol engine. A full tank of fuel will get you from Bombay down to Cheviot. If the hybrid battery scares you, don't stress -- a new one is $9k at your local Porsche dealer. Very reasonable.

Thought this would be my forever "Sunday drive" but I got the wife a 6-speed Cayman in November for her birthday which I've been enjoying, and rightly or wrongly I've decided I'd quite like a 911. Wife is smart enough to insist that the Panamera is sold first.
