Description
1972 Rover 3500 V8 Auto – Restored
Well restored Rover P6 V8 in a great colour combination. Very clean, straight car with no rust and presents well. Could be a show winner with a little more time and money.
Odometer shows approx 104,000 miles (recorded in miles).
Runs and drives well. Typical old Rover traits – may leave small oil/water marks if sitting and takes a while to warm up. Recently noticed it may be revving slightly high.
Things to note:
Tacho disconnected (was causing a miss) Fuel gauge intermittent (has been repaired previously) Missing gear knob (have one, needs sleeve to fit)
I bought this about 5 years ago from a friend who had it stored for over10 years. Prior to that it was restored by The Car Surgery (they remember the car), including repaint, interior reupholstery (carpets and seats), and mechanical rebuilds of the engine, gearbox and diff.
The car was later deregistered and sold through Turners after being left in storage by the estate, then stored long-term before I got it. I’ve since had it fully recompiled through VTNZ and back on the road with its original plates.
It hadn’t been run for years, so I’ve spent a lot of time and money getting it going again, including carb rebuilds, fuel system work, tank removal, pumps, battery and re-compliance. Receipts included.
About a 90% car – the hard work is done, just needs finishing touches.
Selling as I’m cutting down the collection and short on covered storage.
Receipts and video included. Happy for viewings.
