1926 Rover Other 16/50 Colonial Saloon
Description
Original car with 19,000 miles 32,000 km. Partly restored, has new wooden frame, chassis done, front axle, rear axle, 4 wheel brakes, engine been bored, top of block grind, head grind, gearbox overhauled, but it needs 3 gears cut. All original blue paint removed and panels panel beated. Has the original upholstery, also a full set of photos in original condition before starting the restoration. Jobs that need to be done: Upholstery, new set of 5 tires, wiring, need 4 new pistons, rings and gudgon pins, painting, 4 guards panel beated, need 2 new running boards made after guards done. New carpets. Needs a horn too. The car was originally in Te Horo up until 1955, when it's engine seized with only 19,000 miles. I'm the 5th owner from new. The Number Plate number is the Chassis Number: 4054. There is an original Handbook with the car too. The body was built by Smith and Waddington, Sydney, Australia. English Ash with Aluminum panels. I have spent $16,000 on the restoration so far. The car is stored in Eketahuna. It has to be picked up from Eketahuna. I've just got the original Ownership Papers from 1941 through to 1956. That was a great find. The last photo shows the Body makers name plate. The plate does not come with the car. I got the photo off the internet.
