2014 Smart Fortwo
Background check
Description
Great looking Fortwo in a matte green wrap, which I suspect is either factory, or shortly after.
Fits into all the street parks that are JUST too small for a normal car.
Crazy acceleration, completely incomparable to the petrol Smart Cars, this leaves them in the dust and no awful automated manual transmission.
Always slow charged, battery shows no signs of wear, seems to have the same range as when I bought it as a fresh Japan import 40,000km ago. I have no issues getting 120km range, as can be seen in the last pictures (89km round trip Browns Bay to Airport for a drop off, with 30%/36km indicated remaining), but your results may vary, expect 100km if you drive normally.
Some cosmetics, such as the wrap pulling away on the roof exposing the original paint which looks to be in excellent condition (hence me believing it's factory or shortly after), nothing that needs to be bothered with, though, or that will cause issues. It's around 70% gone now, once it's taken itself off it should look like it never happened.
Installed a large screen Android head unit and new speakers, sounds great and has offline Google Maps downloaded for Auckland (or you can hotspot your phone for online). Bluetooth, apps, whatever you want it for, as well as a dash cam and GPS built in.
Interior is in great condition, has the cup holder options and arm rest. Drives great, air con blows cold. Heated seats.
Four new tyres as of Feb 2026, car is light so the last ones went for 45,000km and 6 years and were still legal (2mm remaining). RUCs will be in credit when sold but being driven daily (so presently 100 behind).
All in all it's a wonderful car, however we've just had our first child and now two seats is too few so we've upgraded to a large van.
Comes with a wall charger with a standard wall plug, that I've been happily using for several years now, plug in at night and it's fully charged in the morning for my Browns Bay to Newmarket commute (before I went on maternity leave).
Viewing in Totara Vale, North Shore.
Questions & Answers
Could you please update the roof picture, not in a wet day? Thanks! 9v1sd (120 • 8:34 pm, Sun, 22 Mar )Will do but not sure when, my wife drives it daily to work, I THINK there's still enough light at the end of the day today to get photos, otherwise it will be Friday. I'd say the wrap is now 70% off, and the roof underneath looks great. candypink1 (369 • Sunday, 22 March 2026 )Hiya. What is battery SOH percentage please. Thanks rachel88882 (42 • 9:42 am, Mon, 23 Mar )I couldn't say, this is a Mercedes, so you can't just plug a cheap OBD adapter like you can a Nissan Leaf and pull the battery information. What I can say is that there's 100km of range indicated when fully charged and this doesn't seem to have moved since she bought it 6 years ago. candypink1 (369 • Monday, 23 March 2026 )Images added of the roof today, the real roof is in great condition, and the wrap, which they should never have put on in the first place, is around 70% gone. Seller comment Monday, 23 March 2026 Probably the only situation in the world where a cosmetic issue will improve with time. Seller comment Monday, 23 March 2026
