2012 Subaru Legacy
Background check
Description
This car is a bargain, you know what you’re getting and know it will be good once you’ve put in a little bit of effort.
This car is consuming oil, not leaking and not smoking, but likely the valve seals are worn and need replacing. But once it’s fixed you know this car will be good to go. It’s been serviced regularly and well looked after. The estimated fix is around $5-$6k (but maybe you know a cheaper mechanic), and once it is done, this car will be good to go, unlike any other Subaru Legacy where you might end up paying extra upfront but needing the same work in the end.
The car drives well and can drive fine right now, just need to monitor the oil level every month. Mechanic also suggested a thicker oil to not need such frequent top ups.
I'm the first New Zealand owner, and it's been a reliable station wagon with plenty of practicality built in.
It has a 2.5-litre petrol engine paired with automatic gears, it's easy to drive whether you're navigating city traffic or heading out on longer trips. The AWD system adds confidence in wet or tricky conditions.
It comes fitted with roof racks, which have been handy for carrying extra gear, and there's a tow bar already installed if you need to pull a trailer. The reversing camera helps with parking, which is always useful in a wagon.
It's a practical choice if you need space and versatility.
