Parting ways with my 2023 Tesla Model Y Rear Wheel Drive, which has been a great electric SUV to own. It's NZ new and I'm the only owner it's had.
This is the rear-wheel drive variant with the single motor setup. The electric drivetrain delivers instant response when you need it, and running costs have been very low - no petrol, no oil changes. The auto transmission is seamless, as you'd expect with an EV.
It's a practical 5 seater with good boot space and the elevated seating position that comes with an SUV. The minimalist interior centres around the large touchscreen which controls most functions. It's in great condition overall and has been well looked after.
Charging at home has been straightforward, and the range has been more than adequate for daily driving and longer trips around the region.
If you're considering making the switch to electric or already familiar with EVs, this could be a good option.
