Background check
Description
1998 Toyota RAV4 2-Door 4WD
Up for sale is my 1998 Toyota RAV4 2-door. The short-wheelbase, boxy legend that proves Toyota was absolutely having fun in the 90s. Half SUV, half hatchback, all personality.
Specs: * 2.0L 3S-FE engine (famous for refusing to die) * Automatic transmission (relax, it’s fine) * Proper 4WD * White exterior (hides dirt, reflects regret) * 2 doors (four is unnecessary)
WOF & REGO: Currently no WOF and rego is on hold. For the asking price, it will come with a fresh WOF, rego, and a clean, so you can just get in and go without paperwork stress.
Condition (please read): This is not a showroom car. It has been well loved and well used, and it wears its age honestly. Expect normal 1998-era cosmetic marks and signs of life.
The air conditioning does not work, as the previous owner removed the A/C system entirely. On the plus side, that’s less weight and more airflow. Windows still work perfectly.
The good stuff: Starts, runs, and drives exactly how a good old Toyota should. Cheap to maintain, easy to live with, compact around town but surprisingly capable thanks to the 4WD. These 2-door RAV4s are getting harder to find and have strong future-classic energy.
The honest stuff: Not fast. Not new. Not pretending to be either. It’s an automatic, it’s 27 years old, and it’s comfortable being itself.
Trades: I am open to trades. Specifically after a kei car, Smart car, or something small, unique, and a bit derpy. Bonus points if people ask “what is that?”. The trade vehicle must have dual airbags (non-negotiable — the wife worries).
Will upload more photos soon!
