1968 Triumph Other Vitesse
Video

Background check
Description
It’s a sad day, but I think it’s time I handed this car over to someone who can really care for it the way it deserves.
This was my uncle’s 1968 Triumph Vitesse, which he bought new back in ‘68. He used it as his daily driver up until the day he passed last year, and knew I was into cars so left it to me.
With a new baby, I know I won’t have time to drive this vehicle so it’s time to let it go to someone who will. It’s rego is on hold because I didn’t have time to get its last WOF but has passed two WOFs since I’ve been looking after it.
It couldn’t be more original if it tried. The seats are the originals, and the carpet was once a similar colour although has clearly lost its vibrancy! I haven’t started it in 5 months, it’s been sitting on trickle, and that video shows how easy it is start, and get a stable idle in short time. Needs some cosmetic attention given its complete original condition.
It’s not a must sell so if there’s no interest, ill keep it in storage until I have some more time.

The vitesse also came out with an 1848cc 4 cylinder engine. The same engine was later fitted to the triumph dolomite. noreti (95 • 8:10 pm, Fri, 14 Nov )I have updated to a 6 cylinder absoluteclassic (56 • Friday, 14 November 2025 )In reply to noreti, the Vitesse absolutely did not ever have a 4-cylinder engine across the entire model life cycle, nor any engine family relationship with the Dolomite 1854cc unit. It was only ever conceived of and produced as a six cylinder alternative to the Herald, firstly as a 1600cc unit and then upgraded to the 2-litre in 1966 as seen in this model. To the owner of this- I have admired this very car for many, many years, it is very well-known by the Vitesse community! westwyn (361 • 12:17 pm, Sat, 15 Nov )I have updated to 6 cylinder. It’s a beautiful car and I will try and keep for sure. absoluteclassic (56 • Saturday, 15 November 2025 )4 cylinder Vitesse? car or noreti must be on another planet?
