Description

1989 T3 VW Camper .

I owner. Bought new in Germany and converted with Westfalia kit before being shipped to New Zealand in 1992.

When not in use it has been garaged. In great shape as we spent up large having it de-rusted around the double-glazed windows and completely repainted. All work professionally completed by Ray Hassler Autohaus in Auckland.

The van is left hand drive and owned by us for over the required 20 years for it to be legally on-sold as a left-hand drive vehicle in NZ. Has the original fuel efficient 1.6 litre engine (no turbo). 4-speed manual gear box. Runs reliably.

The Westfalia kit includes the high top, double-glazed Bonoplex windows, storage lockers, swivel tables, fold-out double bed, cooker unit including wash-basin. The cooker unit also has a small Dometic electric fridge/ freezer. Has the potential to accommodate 4 people. When we used the camper the 2 children were in the upper berth while we used the fold-down bed.

It has a 50mm towbar as well as the classic Kombi bike rack. Solar PV recently upgraded to a 300 Wp w/solar charging unit and new house battery.

Sailed through last WOF and will of course have current registration and WOF at time of sale.

We have had many happy, cost-effective holidays in this camper and always envisaged passing it on to family. However family now reside permanently overseas so we are selling.

Available for viewing by emailing v.dubb@posteo.net or by phoning 021 2031 388.

All offers above $25,000 would be a sale!!

Questions & Answers

  • Hey what a beautiful van. Couple of questions. How many seatbelts? Do the front seats spin around? jarrah4 (317) • 8:55 pm, Fri, 5 Dec We have loved owning her -she has been a member of the family for 36 years. There are four seatbelts. We did not buy the kit for the swivel chair but we often thought it would be great to have done this for the front passenger seat. Possibility exists for a new owner to do this. mmt60 (6) • Friday, 5 December 2025
  • Do you have a spare 1.6 diesel engine for this model van. Cheers doody5 (258) • 10:02 pm, Sat, 6 Dec Sorry no. We have some spare parts for the camper but not an engine or engine parts. mmt60 (6) • Saturday, 6 December 2025
  • Is this the Westfalia high top that's been to a few of the VW Nationals round the country? sebring (376) • 3:43 pm, Mon, 8 Dec Yes. We have been to several of the VW Nationals - but have not attended for quite a few years. mmt60 (6) • Monday, 8 December 2025
