1973 VW Westfalia/Campmobile
Up for sale is my 1973 VW Westfalia/Campmobile. The Campmobile was a US-assembled Westfalia, using the same Westfalia components. This is a solid, honest example that presents well and drives as it should. It’s been used and enjoyed, and is ready for the next owner to do the same.
Factory automatic (3-speed) with Type 4 motor. Starts easily, runs well, and cruises nicely. The automatic makes it especially easy and relaxed to drive — well suited to cruising. Retains its original left-hand drive layout.
Body is in good condition for its age and presents cleanly. It’s a straight, usable Kombi that you can get in and drive. Interior is tidy and largely unrestored, which is getting harder to find.
The pop-top canvas shows some age with a few tears, the carbs could benefit from a tune, and a respray would take it to the next level. The price reflects these points.
Also comes with a three-legged awning (shown in photos) and a retro camping setup including a Primus twin burner gas cooker with stand, gas bottle, and pots and pans. Also includes a Just Kampers front hammock (suitable for kids up to 40kg), original front curtains, and the original fold-out stretcher bed in the pop-top (around 70kg capacity).
