1973 Volkswagen Kombi
Background check
Description
I'm thinking of changing the colour when I get the surface rust removed. Maybe the red will appeal to more people? The asking price will increase, so if you are after a pink VW Kombi let me know before I take it in. The photo is what it would look like in red. Here is the perfect solution to the current fuel crisis. Park this van outside your workplace & sleep in the back! Avoid traffic congestion, fuel costs & your family at the same time. Only costs $90 to register for a year too. 1973 VW Kombi campervan. Has had lots of time & money put into restoring it to a reliable, practical van that is ideal to get away in. The underside has had all rust cut out & has been coated with protective sealant. The body was also done. I have lots of photos of the work that was done. There is some rust coming through on the seams, that is surface rust. Getting that done over winter. She has a new carb, new house battery and the engine bay has heat and noise lining. Generally starts first pop with a couple of pumps of the accelerator. KMs are approximate as the odometer hasn't worked for a while. The inside has been revamped and set up with shelves and storage for kitchen utensils and bedding. The seats fold out into a bed, which is comfortable for two people. I have a shade sail and poles that I use as an awning. There is a lovely new wood steering wheel, metal gear lever knob and handbrake handle, bought in from the UK. Also under dash shelves and a cup/ phone holder, also from the UK. The house battery can run a small fridge and to charge up mobile phones/ mp3 players etc. 240volt socket and a lead so it can plug in at a powered campsite. She has a brand new EWOF valid until 2030. I have a mesh net for the back, that keeps mosquitos out and a blackout cover that covers the front and side windows. Curtains do the rest. The top pops up giving extra head room and has mesh windows to increase air flow. Any other questions feel free to ask. Happy for anyone to take it for a test run to ensure it is what you're after.
