2011 Volkswagen T5 Transporter Swb
Background check
Description
This 2011 VW T5 Transporter SWB is a great economical van – reliable 2.0L turbo diesel (1968cc) with 5-speed manual, excellent fuel economy and drives like a car.
Originally a practical work van, it has been thoughtfully converted into a comfortable 2-person camper setup – perfect for spontaneous trips away, while retaining its everyday usability as a spacious cargo van when needed. It has been regularly serviced and well looked after throughout its life, with the timing belt (cam belt) recently replaced at 230,000 km for added peace of mind.
Camper features: Quality slat bed converts to spacious, comfortable double bed with premium mattresses Pull-out kitchen bench from under bed 4 kitchen drawers + 7 storage drawers + under-bed storage Built-in ceiling lights for bright, cosy interior Sound deadening and insulation throughout – quieter and warmer year-round Tailor-made curtains all round
The camper fit-out is fully removable (no permanent mods). Roof racks fitted, huge cargo space, two-seater config. Interior & exterior have a few minor marks/scuffs (drivers seat in picture) as expected for age/use, but mechanically sound and very reliable – great daily driver, work van or adventure vehicle.
We've loved this van for our camping trips around NZ. It's been incredibly comfortable for two, easy to set up, and totally reliable on long drives. Sadly selling only because our family is growing and we need more seats/space.
Ready to drive away today. Tyres are only a year old with plenty of tread, air conditioning blows cold, brakes/ suspension all good, no warning lights or issues.
Any questions welcome – more photos available

Questions & Answers
Hi there, does your van have any self-containment certification? johnapeacock (310 • 12:12 am, Mon, 22 Dec )Hi John, no it does not have official self-containment certification as we never needed it. The drawers could easily be modified to hold a sink & grey water through. hollycochrane (7 • Monday, 22 December 2025 )
