2003 Volkswagen Beetle Turbo Race Car
Times around Hampton Downs national circuit was 1:21.00 (with base tune) Car is capable of a 1:17 easy with proper tuning.
Built this car a few years ago to run in the Production Race Series, I wanted to build a car that was entirely different to everything else out on track. Just been painted in candy apple red with red metal flake, originally Silver.
Car has just had a new second hand engine fitted from SD European but fitted by Euro MD in pukekohe, (invoices can be provided) kms are 115kms on this engine and on the body is 247xxx (engine code AWU). It is running an aftermarket front mount intercooler, K04 Turbo, 4 bar fuel pressure regulator, 4 bar map sensor 360cc Injectors from an Audi S3 (1998-2001).
Car has a base tune but ideally for racing it needs a dyno tune, I have too many other projects so this has to go, the car runs and you can drive it fine but I think for optimal performance with the new modifications it needs to be put on a rolling road. Brand New NZKW Hans belt and OMP Race seat. Passenger side has a seat base and bracket for a spare seat )Second seat can be included for extra, brand new OMP).
