Lotus 51 Formula Ford

1968 Lotus51B Formula Ford in race ready condition. I have owned this car for over 10 years but i'm at that age where its time to pass the car onto a younger owner. I bought the car from the US in 2012 and completed a total rebuild prior to its first New Zealand race in 2013. I have since raced the car at most NI and SI tracks. The car has a recently refreshed strong Edgell prepared race engine and good Hewland MK9 gearbox. Thre Lotus 51 started Formula Ford in the late 1960's so this is a historically significant car much admired wherever it races. Despite the models age this is still a quick race car generally running in the top half of the field. The car has a best lap time at Hampton Downs National circuit of 1m13s in the hands of an aged driver.
The car comes with MSNZ Certificate of Description and Historic logbook. I also have a Lotus 41C (black car), Elfin Mono F3 (yellow car) and almost completed Brabham BT40 F2 restoration project for sale if interested.
