1968 Plymouth Barracuda Hard top... Cuda, Dodge
Description
Here we have Dons pride and Joy,
1968 Plymouth Barracuda painted a factory colour being Avocado Green ( slightly metallic ) ex California Car.
Don has owned her for 11+ years and had the following work carried out:
The original 318 has been fully striped and rebuilt going 0.30 thou over with new pistons, rings, bearings, alloy heads, ceramic headers, new Edelbrock 500CFM 4 Barrel carb, upgraded alloy inlet manifold, electronic ignition, new oil pump, new alternator, new fuel pump, new water pump, large modern alloy radiator, and runs a 3 speed torque flight transmission (auto column change).
She purrs nicely with a full exhaust and is not heavy on gas.
Don rebuilt the front end and replaced the front discs which are hydraulically operated meaning she stops on a dime.
American racing style alloy wheels and larger rear rubber was added to give it that nice 60s stance, minor work such as front bumper re-chroming and new battery and high torque starter motor were added in October this year.
The headlights were upgraded to modern bulbs ( not sealed beams ) and the required relays all fitted.
Door & window rubbers have been replaced, the inside of this Barracuda can be described as very original and super tidy. Roof lining also replaced. Seat belts are fitted front and rear.
Some rust was found in the typical rear wheel arches around 5 years ago, this was professionally panel beaten, new sections were welded in place, it was not a bog over job.
Some spares go with the car, tail lights, headlight alloy surrounds and trunk trim - in usable but not mint condition.
Most if not all mechanical work incl standard servicing ( Engine, Trans, Diff etc ) has been carried out by Smith Autos in Levin. Andy has a fantastic name with classic car work & servicing.
Rego & Wof Expiring Oct 26
This car has provided Don and his family with fantastic memories, its time for another family to make some memories in a classic MOPAR
